It hurts
What do you do when it hurts so bad? You leave the pain, walk away, and hope it only resurfaces on rare occasions. When it does, it keeps you up at night, it leaves you feeling like someone punched you in the gut, hard!! So how can we be functional when that happens? We still need to work, clean, run, walk dogs, and get on with the business of living. I am just not sure how to do it. I move along and then it rears its ugly head, and I want to go back into flight mode. I need to stop thinking and looking at the things that hurt!

Hi
Wow I have been getting so much accomplished. I am sitting here patting myself on the back PAT PAT PAT! Just finished reading "The Friendship Doll, a fun and fast read. I am almost finished with my Feministy cowl, and loving the colors and look of it. Not really a cowl girl, but I decided that Chicago winters require something to cover neck wrinkles, and I hate turtlenecks. Back to running a little, it seems that January and February make me want to stay in and read. Working out with DH's trainer right now and while I love the work, I hate the work. The dogs are digging up the last of last years carrots in the garden and eating them frozen, gotta love a dog that will dig their own veggies!!

Superbowls over
So we went next door for the super bowl, what a great time. Our neighbors are a terrific family, and we always chat over the fence Hahaha, but now we have had a meal together. Met some really nice local families and tons of local teens. Halftime show was great, and I did not know or care who MIA was. I think the crass symbol during the show should get her fined!! Friday worked out with the trainer and Monday morning I am finally not as sore. I got my new green machine on Saturday and am totally in love. Soon I will post pics.

Let's try this again
It is a new year and a new day. I am going to try to be more diligent about posting and getting better at trying to compose regular blog posts. The year is starting well and I am ready to be more honest about this blog. I wanted to use it as an online diary format. Putting thoughts out there, projects this year and books I read. So already this year I am knitting 1 pair of socks, 1 sweater, 1 cowl and spinning on my drop spindle. I have read a couple of good books, and I am loving my new NOOK Color.

OH OH OH
OH it is so stinking hot, I cant think of running, gardening, walking, or KNITTING!! Say it ain't so. I have never had this happen before. The running I am always looking for an excuse to get out of, gardening not so much, but knitting, it is like breathing. I always want to do it. I take it everywhere, I do it everywhere, I never apologize for it, and now I cant bear the thought. Even with the air on it is still to hot.
Last night we went to the beach and sat in our chairs at the waters edge with our feet in the water, reading a book. Now mind you the water feels like ice water, glacial run-off cold. But at a certian point I got in, and boy did it feel good to be in it. Chicagoans understand cold water is a good thing. After all isn't it here that Jan 1st every year we have a Polar Bear Plunge? Or maybe it takes that long for the summers heat to wear off, I dont know. I do know I will look forward to 80* temps again so I can start knitting the Hot Chocolate Hat I intend to wear in the race this year.

It could not be more perfect!!
So this is like the perfect Chicago day, about 69* Sunny and breezy, perfect for a short run, a little gardening and now a shower and dinner at Rich Bayless's Resturant with a friend. I love these days because they come far and few in between, and appreciating them is why we have them. I try to remember to always be thankful for a perfect day. I also got my first beautiful bowl of green and wax beans out of my garden!! God's bounty at it's best!!

It has shaped up to be a busy summer
WOW it is the middle of July and I cannot seem to get a minute to myself. I have been knitting on socks, a hat that I want done by November and a sweater. I have started spinning on a spindle and think I might be in love. The grass is growning as fast as the weeds, and cutting needs to happen, soon. Ravinia is having a great line-up this year and my DH seems to think we should move into the park. All in all it is turning out to be a great year and I am happy with this summer.
